Church dating from the 15th century, with Gothic influences in Portugal. This church was a convent where nuns and the rest of the Christian community lived. The church and the convent were reduced in walls because of na terrible fire., Having been rebuilt in the following decade, the church and convent of São Domingos was declared temple of Vila Real.

Some people says that here was born the traditional candy recipe of the city, the famous ‘’ pito de santa luzia’’, through a nun who loved sweets, but, with an average weight for her age. She used a cloth for clean the eyes from the blind people in secret, and there she put sweet of pumpkin with nuts. And to many years after the traditional sweet the ‘’ pito of Santa Luzia’’ appeared, in devotion to the saint of those who stopped seeing the light of day.

The written prescription have been reduced to ashes in the fire that happen at the convent of San Francisco.
